Zirconia and E-max Crowns and Bridges
A crown covers and protects a weakened tooth; a bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by resting on the neighbouring teeth. Both are completed in a single trip.

When you need a crown
- After a root canal, to protect the tooth
- Teeth with large fillings, fractures or heavy wear
- To improve the shape and colour of a badly damaged tooth
- To replace old porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns with dark edges
Zirconia or E-max?
Zirconia is very strong and suited to back teeth and bridges. E-max (lithium disilicate) is more translucent, so it's ideal for front teeth where looks matter most. The dentist recommends the material tooth by tooth.

Crowns and bridges FAQ
Bridge or implant?
An implant doesn't touch the neighbouring teeth and is often the better long-term choice; a bridge is quicker and needs no surgery. We show you both options in your quote.
How long does a zirconia crown last?
Typically 10-15 years or more, with good hygiene and regular check-ups.
